This is an extraordinary pair of antique earrings formed with a large bunch of grapes and wine leaves made of coral from Sicily. The grapes are close together in a highly naturalistic way proving the great ability of the goldsmith. This style of naturalistic ornaments was used in the second half of the 19th century reflecting the widespread romantic interest for the nature also for decoration. A typical Grand Tour souvenir. From Sicily. Second half of the 19th century. 14K Gold (touchstone tested). In perfect condition.
